With so many options, shopping in Palm Springs is practically an Olympic sport

If you want it, you can buy it in the valley. Just take a look at some of our major shopping sites — and also pay attention to the dozens of strip malls, department stores, dollar stores, even consignment shops you'll notice along the way.

Stroll in town

Shops along the city's main drag make up an eclectic mix, including See's Candies, Latino Books y Mas, Crystal Fantasy, plus lots of furniture, jewelry, clothing, antiques, pet supplies and souvenirs.

Look down occasionally — stars in the sidewalk tout members of the Palm Springs Walk of Fame.

It's not unusual to spot a Hollywood celebrity shopping on the famed street, which has been ranked with Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills and Worth Avenue in Palm Beach as a world-class shopping center.

You'll find, among other famed shops, Saks Fifth Avenue, Brooks Brothers, Coach, Escada, Gucci, St. John's, Leeds & Son, Tiffany & Co., Ann Taylor and Chico's, plus jewelry stores, galleries and salons.

Old Town La Quinta, near City Hall on Calle Tampico, just off Washington Street

You'll find a selection of boutiques, salons and shops touting jewelry, resort wear, wine, cigars and stationery. It's also home to Hog's Breath Inn a restaurant featuring an array of memorabilia honoring actor Clint Eastwood.

Malls

The River, at the intersection of Highway 111 and Bob Hope Drive in Rancho Mirage

This upscale center features a collection of shops, including Hallmark Galleries, Borders and M.A.C. Cosmetics. Shop as long as you please, and don't worry about getting home in time for dinner — The Cheesecake Factory, Babe's Bar-B-Que & Brewery, Fleming's, Piero's Acqua Pazza, the Yard House and PF Chang's are all just steps away.
