Palm Springs Air Museum: The perfect stop for aviation buffs

One of the valley's popular attractions, the Palm Springs Air Museum, dedicated on Veteran's Day 1996, is a living monument to the war birds of WWII. The museum offers an array of flying and static airplanes from the era and a wide range of educational displays and documentaries.

Did you know?
The Air Museum was started after four Coachella Valley residents saw a P-51 flying overhead and had the idea to preserve WWII planes in the desert. War bird collector Bob Pond was a major force, providing many of the displays seen at the museum.
